Woman pours hot tea on British diplomat’s wife

A woman ordered tea a restaurant in Kuwait then rushed with the hot cup towards the wife of former British ambassador in the oil-rich Gulf emirate and poured it on her head, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The British woman, who was among a trade delegation visiting Kuwait, was rushed to hospital with burns in the face and body, Alwatan said.

Police said they were investigating the case to identify the woman who fled with another lady just after she splashed the hot liquid on the Briton.

"Police sources said they were surprised at this act because the wife of the former British ambassador has no enemies here and has not visited Kuwait over the past four years…she was also sitting at a table which is far from that where the attacker sat,” the paper said. (...)
