Muslim body asks govt to provide land to build more mosques

Jamait-e-Ulma Hind today expressed concern over the economic conditions of Muslims in the region, and urged the government to take necessary steps to ensure that their interests were protected.
Addressing media persons, Jamait president Hazrat Maulana Arshad Madni said there were a number of concerns of the Muslim community of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh, which were largely being ignored by the respective governments. Madni further said while the city had a large of gurdwaras, temples and churches, the number of mosques were inadequate for the sizeable Muslim population in the Tricity. He demanded the government to provide land to build more mosques. (...)
