Yemen to deport two arrested Belgians

Yemen will deport two Belgians who have been held for a month after they were arrested in Sana'a International Airport on suspicion of involvement in terrorism, Yemeni official said on Sunday.

The official told Reuters that the arrestees Ebraheem Bali and Ez-Adin Tuhairi were arrested on April 13 when they arrived in Sana'a.

He explained that they were arrested as they were suspicious of planning to terrorist activities, pointing out that Yemen is negotiating with the Belgian Government to deport them within days.

A spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry affirmed that the two persons were arrested due to their involvement in terrorist acts, indicating that Brussels was seeking consular access to them.

A Yemeni human rights group, Hood, stated on Saturday that Yemen's Political Security, the state intelligence agency, has seized the two Belgian nationals in Sana'a International Airport. (...)
