Video: Neighbors appeal mosque plans

HENRICO, VA - Henrico's Board of Supervisors will soon hear an appeal over plans to build a huge mosque in the west end. Neighbors want the county to reconsider plans for the Hungary Road site.

Imagine, for a second, in a wide open space one day, a huge 30,000 square foot mosque. With it, the plans call for 128 parking spaces. But longtime neighbors say that's not nearly enough.

Sylvia Hoehns Wright is more than a longtime neighbor — her name is on the gate.

On behalf of her adjacent family-owned subdivision and the surrounding neighborhoods, she filed an appeal this month asking Henrico County to hold off on what the Islamic Center of Richmond wants to do.
