Birmingham mosque attack update: 15-year-old boy arrested

A SCHOOLBOY has been arrested by detectives investigating an attack outside a Birmingham mosque which left a man fighting for his life. The 15-year-old, who is from the Small Heath area, was arrested at 7.40pm on Sunday and is currently being questioned by officers about the attack which happened on Friday afternoon near the Noor-ul-Uloom Mosque in St Oswald Road.

The 22-year old victim was taken to the city’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening head injuries after reportedly being hit with a baseball bat during a disturbance between a group of people.

He suffered a serious head injury and remains in a critical condition in hospital.
