Mali Islamists to continue destroying UNESCO sites

BAMAKO, Mali -- A spokesman for an Islamist group says they plan to destroy historic UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Malian city of Timbuktu before implementing strict Shariah law.

Ansar Dine spokesman Sanda Abu Mohamed said Sunday that Islamists will continue the destruction they started Saturday. (...)
