Italian hostage freed, Islamic spokesperson said

One Italian and two Spanish hostages have been freed in northern Mali, Sanda Ould Boumana, a spokesperson from Ansar al Din, a Salafi jihadist group which operates in Mali, told Reuters news agency on Wednesday.
''We were told that an Italian and two Spanish hostages have been freed today in the Gao region in northern Mali by Mujwa, an Islamic group with ties to Al Quaeda,'' Boumana said, without naming any of the hostages.
