Yemen Mufti prohibits watching TV series

The Mufti of Yemen, Sheikh Mohammed al-Amrani issued a fatwa prohibiting the screening or watching Omar Ibn al-Khatab TV series that has been broadcasted by some Arab Satellite TV channels during Ramadan month.

In his Fatwa that was published by a number of social sites, including the Face Book, Sheikh al-Amrani said that the Islamic scholars across the world have prohibited to role play Sahabah ‘Companions of Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him’.

"It is not allowed to act roles of the Sahabah or watch these series, sell them, purchase them or even borrow them,” Sheikh al-Amrani said in his fatwa.
He added that it is prohibited to advertise or screen these series. (...)
