Crime - A Daily Nightmare
GaliaWatch 20 August 2012
A reminder to all readers who are French or who know French that there is a website, meticulously organized, that gives crime statistics on a monthly basis, complete with links to source articles. Fait Divers France lists the crimes in chronological order and provides interactive maps for the month and the year.
In July 2012 there were 546 crimes throughout France. If you scroll down to July 31, you will see the first indication of trouble in Mulhouse, the topic of my previous post.
As an introduction to the month of July, Kaos, the administrator of the site, writes:
Toulouse, Amiens, Mulhouse… The war has begun. For months I've been listing serious crimes, very serious crimes. Marseille, Lille, 93 (this refers to Seine-Saint-Denis), gang attacks, AK47's, hold-ups, burglaries, home-jackings… they don't hesitate… And the best part? Boneheads always find a way of excusing them. We're in the middle of a nightmare… I am going to wake up...
These lists, as the author says, are not exhaustive. There is probably no way of knowing how many crimes are actually committed because in France, as elsewhere, including the United States, many crimes go unreported. However, this valuable website is an indicator, and replaces an older website that stopped functioning years ago called SOS-France.
I suggest to all Frenchmen to do as we do (or as we ought to do) here. Arm yourselves if possible. Put bars on all ground floor windows of dwellings. Put inside bars, with padlocks and keys, on second floor windows (I believe outside bars without padlocks are forbidden. It depends on the city regulations). If you cannot carry a weapon, try to find an alternative such as mace or a taser. Women must not jog in isolated areas (or men for that matter). Do not go out unaccompanied at night. Do not take subways and buses at night. Do not open your door if someone knocks - be sure to have a strong security door with a dead-bolt, that remains closed, between you and your caller. Don't let workmen into your home unless it's a reliable company with a competent supervisor. Keep windows bolted. Try to avoid parking lots at night. Know where all the police stations are in your area. Try to get accurate crime statistics from whatever source provides them - police, local newspapers, neighbors willing to tell the truth, local merchants. Information on crime can be found in many places, but often people are not willing to talk. Know the school your children attend: go there, observe what goes on, talk to other parents, accompany your children to and from school if necessary. Home school your children if you can (we have about two million home-schooled children, grades K-12 in the U.S.) And as unfortunate as it is, you may want to avoid festivities, such as outdoor celebrations and even theme parks - wherever gangs can suddenly emerge and create mayhem. Avoid any situation where you may get trapped, such as elevators, empty subway cars, or even taxis. If you don't like the look of a cab driver's face, don't get in.
Don't carry credit cards in your handbag which may be stolen. Keep them on your person - in your bra if possible. Men should keep valuables in a small waist-wallet hidden under their clothing. Keep your cell phones out of sight. Don't use ATM's unless there is some protection.
Form town watches wherever possible - but don't put yourselves in danger. The thugs are armed, you may not be. If you harm a thug, the media and the courts will put YOU on trial, as happened here recently in Florida when a town watchman (of mixed blood), named George Zimmerman, killed a black adolescent. The media consistently referred to the watchman as "white", though he was clearly mixed, and he has been charged with second-degree murder. So, since the system is against those who fight crimes and for those who commit them, perhaps town watches are too civilized an idea for the inhuman world we live in today.
Try to force everybody you know into recognition of the situation. If you know an elderly couple with little knowledge of reality, try to make them understand that they must never open their door unless they know for sure who is there. Train your children not to be influenced by peer pressures that are obviously intended to enslave them and force them into criminal behavior.
Support the police. Send letters and e-mails of protest to every cowardly official, especially those you yourselves put into office.
Better yet, deport all your politicians to Algeria, except for the Front National.
It's a fact of life that we are hostages in our own lands.
