1.5 M Bulgarian Muslims Celebrate Holy Festival

More than a million and a half Bulgarian Muslims, most of whom ethnic Turks, are celebrating the sacred holiday Kurban Bayram this year. The four-day festival started with a prayer on Thursday in all 1100 mosques across Bulgaria.

"Let's pray to Allah to guide the prodigal, heal the sick, give patience to the oppressed, help the poor, have mercy on us and on all Bulgarians," Chief Mufti Mustafa Hadzhi said on Thursday. (continue reading...)
