'Hate cleric' Qatada intends to sue UK govt for 10 mln pounds over 'unlawful detention'

Radical Muslim cleric Abu Qatada has reportedly told his family that he is planning to sue the British government for 10 million pounds over 'unlawful detention'. Qatada said he wants compensation for his 'extended mistreatment' after a judge released him from jail last week and blocked his deportation to Jordan to face terror charges.

The hate preacher was awarded a small payout from the European Court of Human Rights three years ago after judges ruled he had been unfairly detained in Belmarsh high security jail without trial. (continue reading...)
