Upland neighborhood in shock over terrorism arrest

Neighbors say an Upland man arrested Friday on suspicions of terrorism, would speak with neighborhood kids about Islam and going to Afghanistan. Miguel Alejandro Santana Vidriales, 21, and three others were arrested Friday in connection with a terrorist plot.

Manuel Gomez, who frequently visit family in the neighbor, said Vidriales lived with his parents and younger sister.

"They were a Mexican family and were hard core Catholics," he said. "You wouldn't expect that, not a Mexican family."

Gomez said Vidriales would "speak menace" to the kids in the neighborhood and talked about going to Afghanistan. (continue reading...)
