Calling Islam "Islam”

FRONTPAGEMAG.COM 24 April 2013
By Bosch Fawstin

I wrote this a few years ago, and I think it’s worth posting again, particularly after the latest jihadist attack in Boston. I noticed, after the attack this week, that a number of people are using more proper terminology to identify this enemy, which is very important in taking on the enemy.

I recall watching panel discussions after 9/11, with each panelist using a different term to describe the enemy we face. That annoyed the hell out of me as I think it’s incredibly important to identify the proper terms when speaking about our enemy, and to NEVER create terms, for whatever reason.

To me, the only difference between "Islamism” and Islam is three letters. Below I try my best to make the case why we should always call Islam "Islam.”

Western intellectuals and commentators refer to the enemy’s ideology as:

"Islamic Fundamentalism,” "Islamic Extremism,” "Totalitarian Islam,” "Islamofascism,” "Political Islam,” "Militant Islam,” "Bin Ladenism,” "Islamonazism,” "Radical Islam,” "Islamism,” etc….

The enemy calls it "Islam.”

"Tamerlan(e)” Tsarnaev and Killing From Koranic Piety

AndrewBostom.org 24 April 2013

Killed Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, an ethnic Chechen Muslim, has been identified by the FBI as a "strong believer” in Islam, and an adept of jihadism

Tamerlan was unabashed in his Muslim piety and avowal of jihad—the latter bringing him to the attention of both Russian intelligence and the FBI. Indeed, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was identified last summer, during a 6-month sojourn in Russia, as having frequented a well-known jihad-fomenting mosque in Machachkala, Dagestan, meeting directly with a jihadist underground movement leader there at least six times.

Criticism is not Islamophobia

Criticism is the oxygen of journalism. Here at the Jewish Journal, we will criticize anything that we believe deserves criticism, including religion

We will criticize preachers who use Christianity to express hatred and bigotry toward gays as much as we will criticize religious Jews who use the Torah to humiliate women rabbis wearing prayer shawls at the Western Wall.

'The Quran is our constitution' Tracing roots of Islamism inside the U.S.

WND.com 23 April 2013

"God is our Goal. The Prophet is our leader. The Quran is our constitution. Jihad is our way. Death in the service of God is the loftiest of our wishes. God is great, God is great.”

This is the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood, which was founded in Egypt as a vehicle to establish a worldwide Islamic empire governed by Shariah law. In "The Grand Deception”, a 70-minute film by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), Steve Emerson traces the roots of Islamism inside the United States. This film examines the extent of Islamist influence within the country and highlights the danger it for all Americans.

The violent Quran

Dispatch International 22 April 2013
By Peter Nilsson

The Quran does not have a single verse encouraging love towards those outside of Islam. But there are 493 passages that either endorse violence or talk about the hatred of Allah for the infidels, meaning all non-Muslims.

The Quran is a book mainly concerned with how Muslims are to think and act towards those outside of Islam; that is, either kill them or force them to live as second-class citizens and pay taxes (Jizya).

More than half the contents of the Quran are texts despising or inciting against non-Muslims. This is what turns Islam into a religion of hate and violence, for which history carries much evidence.

Those criticizing Islam are branded with epithets such as "Islamophobe”, "racist” or "right-wing extremist”. A phobia is an unjustified fear of something.

Jihad: A Study in Perpetual War Against the West

Canada Free Press 22 April 2013
By Kelly OConnell

Jihad is the doctrine in Islam which directs its followers to armed assault against non-believers. The recent Boston pressure cooker bombing was committed by two Muslim believers, proving Obama has done nothing to permanently halt the threat of Muslim terrorism

The purpose of jihad is to convert, impoverish or kill all unbelievers. It is an essential element of the teachings of Mohammad, and cannot simply be removed from the Koran.

The newly minted Canadian Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau—the son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau—demonstrated his own lack of leadership ability in protecting the vital tenets of democracy when he justified the Boston bombings through his comment:

"there is no question that this happened because of someone who feels completely excluded, someone who feels completely at war with innocence, at war with society.” He concluded with the advice not to "marginalize people even further who already feel like they are enemies of society rather than people who have hope for the future."
