• Is Taqiyaa an Integral Part of Islam?

EuropeNews 8 November 2010
By Henrik R Clausen

In order to determine if 'Taqiyaa' is an integral part of Islam, the best place to look it up is probably the classical book of Islamic law named "Reliance of the Traveller", authored by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri (1302–1367 AD). This is part of Sunni Islam, specifically the Shafi'i school, and the 1991 English translation carries the seal of approval from the Al-Azhar university in Cairo. In this comprehensive manual, pages 744-746 describe the circumstances in which lying is permitted.

• Book essay: Understanding the Arab Lobby

EuropeNews 30 October 2010
By Henrik R Clausen

The Arab Lobby by Mitchell Bard is a detailed account of the organisations, fronts and persons that make up an Arab lobby in the United States of America. While the Israel lobby (primarily AIPAC) is well known and often mentioned, at times even inspiration for conspiracy theories, the Arab lobby is less well defined, has very limited public support, yet has significant influence on US policies and the educational system. ”The Arab Lobby” is an ambitious effort to set the record straight.

Nothing is more essential to Islam’s credibility than Muhammad’s version of Abraham. Islam must prove that he was a Muslim, that his God was Allah, and that he worshiped in Mecca. Recognizing this, Muhammad tried desperately to make the case.

• Found it: The Islamic Golden Age!

EuropeNews 19 September 2010
By Henrik R. Clausen

Book essay: The Closing of the Muslim Mind, by Robert R. Reilly.

One of the more interesting memes regarding Islam is that of a so-called "Golden Age", a historical period when the Islamic world was affluent, progressive and a great place to live. As a historical, physical fact, that meme has been proven false. However, in the secluded area of philosophy, things are somewhat different. As the introduction states:

This book is about one of the greatest intellectual dramas in human history. Its landscape is the Muslim mind.

Thilo Sarrazin vs. the Ruling Multicultural Oligarchs

Gates of Vienna 9 September 2010
By Fjordman

It is true, as some observers point out, that many people make stupid choices and more or less freely vote for parties that insult them and take away their freedom and dignity. This is a very real problem and exposes some of the flaws of mass democracy. I don’t question that. The issue is whether there is also something else at work in the modern West in addition to this, and my answer to that is “yes”.

Video: Correcting BBC Crusades Propaganda

Vlad Tepes Blog 29 August 2010
By Vlad Tepes

Frankly, to properly answer all the misinformation, disinformation and outright lies of the BBC propaganda video about the crusades and middle ages, I would need a month at least and the result would be absurd as I would have to stop the video every 90 frames and cut in with what is wrong. So I had to content myself with addressing some of the worst outright lies of this video and one major 'oversight'.

You may be wondering why Muhammad based his new religion on old Bible stories, and why he found it necessary to alter them. Muslim scholars insist that the characters and events, at least up to the point of departure, are similar because Yahweh and Allah are the same god. Unfortunately, that makes less sense than the sun falling out of a chariot and angelic wings blotting out the moon.

• Son of Hamas: How Compassion Beats Terrorism

Book essay: Son of Hamas 16 July 2010
By Henrik R Clausen

Authored by Mosab Hassan Yousef, "Son of Hamas" is a riveting book. It is an autobiographical account of his upbringing in the Palestinian territories, where his father co-founded the Hamas movement, only to see living conditions deterioate from bad to worse, as violence, terrorism and security measures strangled what used to be a reasonably functional society.

Prophet of Doom Chapter 1: Would You Believe?

An overview might be helpful before we begin. Islam started when Muhammad, a seventh century Arab, purported to be the Messenger of God. That much we know for sure. The Qur'an, he claimed, was a series of revelations he received directly from a nameless Lord.

When Allah wants to frighten his slaves, the sun falls out of its chariot. This is a full eclipse, a misfortune for the sun."
