Brussels as the headquarters of the European Union is the nominal "capital of Europe."
One would expect the city to be the center of enlightenment -- the exemplification of political and social tolerance and freedom of speech, assembly, and religion, not to mention an advocate of human rights. Disappointingly, recent events have shown that Brussels has increasingly become a place of lies, deliberate disinformation, political manipulation, anti-Semitism, and attacks on Israel.
The ancient, brutal practice of female genital mutilation (FGM), once considered primarily a problem of the developing world, is a growing threat to girls and women in the United States, according to a new report
The United States has longstanding laws against the practice of FGM on U.S. soil and in January, passed a federal law against sending young women outside the country for so-called "vacation cutting". However, girls living in America increasingly are at risk of the procedure both at home and abroad, according to research by Sanctuary for Families.

NRK has done it again. I’ve written before about Norway’s state broadcasting service, which magically converts Norwegians’ compulsory "license fees” into – as I put it last October – "outright, shameless, and (not infrequently) downright vile propaganda.”
Propaganda, for example, against the critics of Islam. Propaganda, a few weeks back, about a gypsy lady whose involvement in child rape NRK omitted from a report early this year in a plain effort to burnish the image of gypsies. Propaganda about the niqab, which NRK depicted last month as "liberating.”
