Pamela Geller is a New York liberal, concerned about shariah law
Most Canadians don’t know who she is, but she did something for us that no Canadian did: She arranged for a proper gravestone for Aqsa Parvez, the teenaged Canadian girl murdered by her father and brother in a so-called honour killing in 2007.

"Unbiased"? The Muslim Brotherhood Channel? Are they kidding?
How does Qatar do it? How does Vogue let Qatar do it to it? "Playing it straight?" The Qatari Sharia Muslim Brotherhood Revolution? And who is this Lisa "Playing It straight into MB hands" Fletcher? To be sure, she got the glossy treatment in Vogue, swanning amid a Marc Jacobs' perfume ad (Daisy), breast cancer awareness, and Van Cleef & Arpels.
"Al Jazeera America" is thrilled to bits.
But what price Glossywood?
From an earlier post:
Qatar, after all, is a country Freedom House deems "not free" where, as reported in Freedom House's the 2012 Freedom of the Press Report, it is against the law for journalists to "criticize the Qatari government, the ruling family or Islam."

Auditors have refused to sign off on EU accounts for 18 years in a row, and EU officials have been sacked for exposing corruption and fraud within the vast bureaucracy
The European Union (EU) is pouring millions of pounds into organizations that advocate state control of the press. For many, the funding -- uncovered recently by Telegraph journalist Andrew Gilligan -- is yet further evidence of the EU's increasingly Orwellian, authoritarian nature. The Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky has for years referred to the organization as the EUSSR. One recipient of European taxpayers' money, Mediadem, for example, has been given 2.3 million pounds. Mediadem describes its mission as working to "reclaim a free and independent media."

- The often apologetic propagandists who discreetly adhere to various shades of Islamism tend to defend their cause by suggesting an unimpressively limited number of arguments which they (sometimes rightly) think would appeal to the Western audience
Their sole purpose is to convince the politically and militarily more powerful West that Islam is not evil but that a few terrorists who think they are Islamists can be. They think this is smart warfare for the advancement of Islam not necessarily as a religion but as a political ideology: the physical and intellectual supremacy of Islam across the world. The apologists think that the terrorists are wrong because they opt for the wrong methodology to achieve the same goal.

On Friday's Real Time program on HBO, Bill Maher hosted an interview with Brian Levin, the director of the Center for Study of Hate and Extremism. It became clear within thirty seconds that Levin was not attending the religious parity party he had expected.
- Bill Maher: Comparing violence of Islam to Christianity ‘liberal bullshit’
One can understand why Levin might harbor such expectations. Maher has a pretty apparent disdain for religious adherents of all stripes. But in that first thirty seconds, Maher spoke, with a pointedly singular focus, of the hypocrisy we witness in such fanatical terrorists as the Tsarnaev brothers, who bombed the Boston Marathon last week.

Criticism is the oxygen of journalism. Here at the Jewish Journal, we will criticize anything that we believe deserves criticism, including religion
We will criticize preachers who use Christianity to express hatred and bigotry toward gays as much as we will criticize religious Jews who use the Torah to humiliate women rabbis wearing prayer shawls at the Western Wall.

"God is our Goal. The Prophet is our leader. The Quran is our constitution. Jihad is our way. Death in the service of God is the loftiest of our wishes. God is great, God is great.”
This is the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood, which was founded in Egypt as a vehicle to establish a worldwide Islamic empire governed by Shariah law. In "The Grand Deception”, a 70-minute film by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), Steve Emerson traces the roots of Islamism inside the United States. This film examines the extent of Islamist influence within the country and highlights the danger it for all Americans.
