Here in the West, many people abhor the thought of saying, "I am anti-[insert some religion or ideology]," because such a statement sounds like bigotry. But what happens when the religion or ideology explicitly promotes spousal abuse, child marriage, and terrorism?

One year after the bombs went off at the Boston marathon, Brandeis authorities were so intent on avoiding the issues those bombs had raised, that they would rather point the finger at a critic of the radical ideology than do anything to criticize the ideology.

Raymond Ibrahim, a Shillman Fellow at the Center, was recently interviewed on New Zealand’s Shine TV, a Christian station. The ten-minute interview with host Allen Lee focuses on a wide range of topics, including Arab dictators versus Islamists and the phenomenon, historic and modern, of Christian persecution.
Some two dozen or so Jewish children ascended with their fathers to the Temple Mount. Children, not even teenagers. Haredim. They were surrounded by adult Muslim men and women who chanted, screamed, yelled, pushed, threatened and otherwise acted with verbal and even some physical violence. And surely psychological violence.

Few divides are as impossible to bridge as those of religion. You either believe or you don't. When it comes to Islam, non-Muslims are expected to take its goodwill on faith. If you believe your eyes and ears, Islam and violence go together like peanut butter and jelly. But if you believe Muslims and their spin doctors with academic degrees, Muslims are the victims of other religions.
